Top Tip Tuesday

Hi everyone! This week at Top Tip Tuesday we're having a

'One For The Kids' challenge

so pop over and join!

There's also a DT call so check it out @ Top Tip Tuesday!

It's Carol's turn and she's prepared a fab 'Nappy Cake' pics tutorial!

Our sponsor is Dew Drop Craftz who are offering one lucky winner a £10 gift voucher to use in their shop.

My take on the above challenge:

I'd like to enter this creation into the following challenges:

Old Supplies - http://ssdschallenge.blogspot.com/2011/05/old-supplies.html – envelope made from paper from a very old paper stack

If you're looking for a photo or scrap-booking album that has been created from scratch, finished to the highest standard and made using professional mediums and materials or if you're looking for a gift pop over to my Etsy shop! Each creation is one of a kind and will make you go WOW!

Make it more interesting...

This is an idea of making something extraordinary out of ordinary. This black notebook measures 11x15.5cm. As you can see it's black and, as you can't see :), it's ruled inside.

You need:
  • black notebook
  • cardstock: black and red
  • mirror card in red and gold
  • stamp, acrylic block to use with the stamp
  • embossing pad, black embossing powder
  • gold string or ribbon
  • glue

The easiest way is to measure the notebook and cut rectangles of mirror card, cardstock, mirror card and card stock again. Every time you need to cut a rectangle which is a bit smaller than the previous one.

Stick them to the notebook.

Cut a rectangle of red card stock which is 4.5x10cm and stamp it with Chinese flowers stamp or any other you like using embossing ink pad or ink which dries longer (Distress Ink by Tim Holz works well). Sprinkle with black embossing powder and heat up with heat gun.
Cut a piece of gold mirror card 5x11cm and stick red card stock onto it. Make a round hole and tie a gold string or gold ribbon in a knot.

Attach to the notebook.

Enjoy!
